I Love the Rain

Rainy days are the best. I say this only because we seldomly have them! I love the gloom. Snuggling up in a blanket, wearing jammies all day drinking hot chocolate, staring out the window, watching the rain fall and listening to it hit the ground is the ideal setting for a gloomy day. That's what the weather is like today and how it was yesterday. Dawson was fascinated by the umbrella and like any parent it was a perfect opportunity to bring out the camera.

Aunt Judy and Uncle George

Last week we spent the day at Aunt Judy and Uncle George's. When I tolLandon that we were going to go to their house the first thing that Landon asked about was the tire swing. I had to sit there and think about whether or not they had a tire swing. It is amazing how children remember certain things! The morning that we were going to leave Dawson woke up and first thing out of his mouth was, "Are we going to Aunt Judy's?" Thank you Aunt Judy and Uncle George for the WONDERFUL lunch. I can not remember a lunch that tasted so good!!! We have decided to make this a monthly occasion! Next time I just hope that we are able to spend more time with Cousin Em and that Grandma Nony will be able to come along! Thanks again and I am looking forward to our next luncheon!

Landon's on the Dodgers
Yes, you guessed it. Of all of the T-Ball teams that are out there, Landon is placed on the Dodgers!!! Wouldn't you know it! Daddy is handling it the best he can! Coming from a home based solely on Giant's fans, we have yet to decide it we are going to wear "Dodger Blue" to the games! His practice officially starts in a little over a week and games start in April. We are so excited to root on our boy!!!

Dawson's First Day at Preschool

Dawson is now going to preschool with me a couple of hours a week. For those of you who don't know, I started working at Landon's preschool two days a week for 3 hours each day. Well thanks to the wonderful staff at the preschool, Dawson goes with me and goes to his own class. This is a great way for him to get acclimated to the school setting. We are very proud of him!!!

Landon's Valentine's Program

This officially marked the first school program that Landon has been in. The school had a Christmas program planned and of coarse Mother Nature decided she didn't want a Christmas program. Anyways, I held it together and realized this was the beginning of many more programs to come. I got teary eyed once or twice but I wasn't able to get a great picture of Landon so I was too focused on getting a decent picture than crying my eyes out! He did great and we could not be more proud! (pictures to follow...)

Thomas the Tank Engine
Thomas has come to town. David and I took the boys to see Thomas at the Events Center. Landon and Dawson enjoyed the show, but were getting tired towards the end. I have never been to a children's show like this. It seemed to be a cross between Broadway and a children's story. Needless to say, we had fun.

Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas friends and family. I can not believe that another Christmas is here and gone. Of course it was a great Christmas! We have not had a White Christmas for as long as I can remember & today we have had plenty of snow to keep me happy!

Santa Pictures 2008

Here are a couple of pictures from when we went to see Santa. Dawson did not want anything to do with poor Santa and I am hoping that this is the last year where he decides to throw a fit :) I was not in the mood to be in another Santa picture. Needless to say, I hadn't showered so I just threw on a sweatshirt and put my hair into a ponytail! Don't you love the hair pulling action! I think Santa was just happy it was me and not him! You gotta love the Santa pictures. The one of Landon is great. He made sure to tell jolly ol' Saint Nick that he wanted firetruck light up shoes (which he got from mommy & daddy).

SoCal

My mom, sister, the boys, and I headed down to Southern California at the beginning of December. We spent 4 days there and stayed plenty busy. One of our first stops was to Knotts Berry Farm!!! The boys had a blast! We were there not long after it opened and left right before they closed. As most of you may know, the boys love trains! So it was fitting that they got to ride a few and even allowed me to take a picture of them on one!

Here's a picture of Landon waiting in line for the Log Ride. Him and Dawson loved it! All Landon wanted to do was ride a roller coaster. We searched and searched! We even found one on the map, but we could not find the children's roller coaster. Finally, we found it hidden around a corner & the boys were able to ride the coaster twice. That along with the Log Ride were their favorite attractions at Knott's Berry Farm!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the boys. I think it is kind of cool how you can see Dawson's reflection in the mirror! This was a big rig truck ride that they drove and I sat in the back. Rides are so much more fun when you are a kid!

This was the night after our big day at Knott's. I had to take a picture of them passed out. I had to literally pry them apart. It was too cute! I just wish they would always get along like this!

The Beach

What can I say about the beach?!? I LOVE IT! I could easily be a beachbum! Life is just different at the beach. Dawson was having fun until a wave knocked him down and completely soaked the front of him! Of coarse, the clean, dry clothes were in the car far far away. Also, me being the prepared mother that I am forgot the towels at my grandma's house. I am so fired. This nice gentleman taking pictures of the surfers let us borrow his towel so that was nice. Landon and I got soaked and we loved every single minute of it. We were searching for seashells and jumping waves! Again, what can I say about the beach. Did you know that Huntington Beach is now known as Surf City USA like the song? Me neither.

Huntington Harbor Boat Parade

My sister and I loved going to our Grandma & Papa's house for the boat parade every year. It is so much fun to watch all of these boats go to the limits with lights, music, animations, etc. This year was no different. I think the boys enjoyed it as much as I did when I was a wee one. Landon really enjoyed using the blow horn to tell all of the boats passing by "Merry Christmas Mommy". He thinks he is so funny! The boys' favorite boat was the one that looks like a bicycle. The wheels even turned on it. It's hard to believe that there is a boat attached to it. What imagination and talent some people have!

The Harbor

Last but not least was us actually going out on the small boat or "duffy" and looking at all of the houses on the water. It is actually more popular for people to decorate their back yards and the back of their homes than the front. That way all of the people on the harbor can enjoy them like we did! Here are a couple of the houses that stood out (and that my camera didn't make too blurry to enjoy).
